Redefining Our Power!

Keynote Speaker: Mrs. Gail Ford, M.S.Ed  | Mrs. Gail Ford was born and raised in Detroit,  MI as one of eleven siblings. Ford’s non-traditional upbringing with limited resources pushed her to claim her power or become a victim of her circumstances!  Ford received her Masters of Science in Adult Education from the University of Wisconsin -Platteville and her Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Speech Communication from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI. During her time at Ferris State University, Ford began her practice as a motivational speaker with T.O.W.E.R.S. (Teaching Others What Establishes Real Success).  Ford has spoken across the country to audiences using her personal story to provide inspiration, motivation, and guidance to help others move towards a better life.  Over the past thirteen years, Ford has worked in non-profits and post-secondary institutions to advocate for systemic changes to better align K-12 education programming with college-ready expectations.  In March of 2015 Ford was asked to serve as the Interim Assistant Director for the Pre-College Enrichment Program for Learning Excellence (PEOPLE) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.   Her work with youth and professionals afforded her the opportunity to attend First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Beating the Odds Summit” at The White House in July 2015. Ford strongly believes in use-of-self to disrupt the cycles of oppression through social action. Ford is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., currently serving as second Vice President of the Madison Alumnae Chapter.
